Saturday – Tuesday
8:00-10:00 am Practice

Saturday – Led Primary + first 6 poses of 2nd
Sunday – Led Second Series
Monday and Tuesday – Mysore
Saturday – Monday 2-4:30 pm
Afternoon sessions include sharing of information on second series, knowing when to begin and how to work into 2nd series, some review of 2nd series poses, how to use your breath to move safely into and out of the poses, how to sense areas where energy is blocked and use the breath to move into those areas, and other discussions on yoga in general and a yogic lifestyle.  The afternoon sessions will vary depending upon the dynamics of the group.
All Nancy’s workshops include the Loving Kindness Meditation.

$300.00 Entire Workshop
This Second series workshop is appropriate for anyone who has a regular primary series practice and has learned at least the first six postures of 2nd series. If Nancy notices you do not have a regular Ashtanga practice you may be asked to observe the morning practices.

About Nancy:
Nancy began practicing Ashtanga Yoga over 30 years ago with Sri K. Pattabhi Jois in Mysore, India. She is the first Western Woman to be taught Ashtanga Yoga! As a result of her close association with Pattabhi Jois, Nancy is able to teach with the style and touch that was transmitted directly from Guruji. Nancy also has a Buddhist Meditation practice and is a student of Baba Hari Das. She is the director of the House of Yoga and Zen on Maui. Nancy travels to Europe (Eastern and Western), Japan, India, and across the U.S. teaching workshops with the intention of sharing her experience of yoga with others. Her studies have led her to the dharma teachings of the Dalai Lama and the expression of love and compassion for all beings.

After more than 30 years of Ashtanga practice, Nancy is more convinced than ever that this style of yoga as taught to her by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois works best when it is followed strictly to the original form and she continues to teach as he taught her.

On Your Way to Ashtanga Yoga

Learn this ancient form of yoga at a slow pace in a comfortable environment. In this 8 week workshop you will learn the basics of the Ashtanga Yoga System slowly. Each week will build upon the previous weeks’ experiences. At the end of the session you will be prepared to take an Ashtanga Yoga Primary Series class anywhere in the world!

Ashtanga yoga is a form of yoga developed in Mysore, India by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, designed to detoxify and align the body. It is preferred by those looking for a balanced program between exercise for the body, breathing and meditation for the mind, and relief from stress, aches, and pains. Ashtanga Yoga benefits body, heart, and mind.
