Grits w/ Grapefruit

Ingredients

  • 1 cup organic grits, white hominy are best -any organic kind will do
  • 3 cups water
  • pinch of salt
  • Spinach, torn or other greens
  • lots of butter

Instructions

Bring salted water to a boil, stir in grits.  Stir often or they will burn, stirring for about 15 – 20 minutes or until all water is absorbed.

Turn off heat and stir in lots of butter.  For an added nutritional punch you can stir in some spinach or other greens.

This is a great breakfast served with a grapefruit.
